BYRON GOULD
Born and raised in Japan, he is American by nationality but (mostly) Japanese at heart.
While studying at Waseda University, he began making films with friends, sparking a passion for filmmaking that has stayed with him ever since.
After graduating, he continued creating independent films while teaching English before deciding to join a video production company to gain hands-on experience. There, he worked on web and TV commercials, documentaries, and more, allowing him to grow both professionally and personally.
He later freelanced for a few years as a cameraman for music videos, ads, and short films.
In late 2023, he founded marpha Inc. and continues to deepen his involvement in the filmmaking world he loves.
JUNKI GOTO
After graduating from Yokohama City University School of Medicine, he worked as a nurse in the ER and ICU for five years. However, in 2022, he bid farewell to the medical field and decided to become a video editor instead—much to his colleagues’ surprise.
A licensed drone pilot, he handles aerial filming at marpha.
One of his long-term goals is to create a documentary on nursing, blending his healthcare background with filmmaking.
He has a deep connection to Nepal, having visited the country five times—once nearly derailing his studies in university.
In addition to his video production skills, he is also adept at reading 12-lead electrocardiograms.

Our company name comes from a village along the Jomsom Trail, which we visited during our travels in Nepal.
Our logo features a small bottle of apple brandy, one of Marpha’s famous products.
Inside the bottle, the Annapurna mountain range is reflected—like a ship in a bottle.
In front stands an adventurer who has stepped out of the bottle, ready for a new journey.
